Welcome to the St Lawrence academy

The St Lawrence Academy is an 11-16 academy for boys and girls in Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire.  We replaced High Ridge Specialist Sports College on the same site and opened in September 2008.  We are a small academy with 120 children in each year group and our specialism is sport with science as our second subject.

The Principal Joan Barnes with her Senior Leadership team – Mike Adnitt, Vice Principal, four Directors, Phill Dalowsky, Diane Goodall, Gill Hunt and Tony Wood are all very proactively working with staff to transform the opportunities for the students.

We are sponsored by the Diocese of Lincoln and are proactively supported by our Trustees.  Our Chair of Trustees is the Bishop of Grimsby, the Rt Revd. David Rossdale.  Our vision and ethos are driven by our core values of truth, justice, respect, generosity and forgiveness.

We are part of the North Lincolnshire BSF programme where approximately £11 million will be spent refurbishing/rebuilding our current academy.  An exciting time for all of us.
