Welcome to the St Lawrence academy

The St Lawrence Academy is a new Academy of excellence for 11-16 year old boys and girls of all abilities, specialising in Science and Sport.

As Principal, I am privileged to have been given the opportunity to lead the creation and development of The St Lawrence Academy. I want to lead an excellent Academy where innovative learning and teaching go hand in hand with our core values and the expectation that everyone will be valued and their potential released.  We have high aspirations for all our students, supported by a committed and enthusiastic team of staff, dedicated to bringing out the best in every student. We want parents and carers to work in partnership with us to create a learning culture in which students are determined to succeed, are confident in their abilities and are fully involved in the life of the Academy and local community.

Our students will be our ambassadors, and will be encouraged to take on leadership responsibilities and get involved in Student Voice activities, as they are our future leaders. We aim to help all our students to develop a lifelong enthusiasm for learning.  I look forward to meeting you soon.

We are delighted to announce our 2009 GCSE results with 53% of our Year 11 students attaining 5 A*-C GCSE's.  Well done to all!
